Curious Public UPLIFT Program Now Taking Applications Across Canada

Agency expands pro-bono initiative to ‘uplift’ marketing for a deserving non-profit or NGO – operating anywhere in Canada

Toronto, Ontario, June 18, 2023 – Curious Public Content and Insights, a marketing and communications firm specializing in strategy, brand narratives, issues and crisis communications along with multi-media content creation, today announced that its annual pro-bono program, UPLIFT, is open and newly accepting applications from non-profits or NGOs across Canada.

UPLIFT, now in its fifth year, offers hands-on marketing and communications help – the equivalent of three months of agency work – at no cost to them. Formerly only available to organizations in the Greater Toronto or Vancouver area, Curious Public will now accept applications from non-profits and NGOs creating local impact in any province or territory across Canada.

“The world of client work is almost exclusively remote post-pandemic,” says Curious Public President Lloyd Rang, “so it was time to apply the same borderless thinking to our UPLIFT program. There are a lot of great organizations doing great work for their communities. But many operate with limited marketing and communications resources, so their impact and message get lost. So we’re excited to be able to offer this chance to more great Canadian organizations.”

Being chosen for UPLIFT 2022 made a huge difference for our organization,” says Kitrina Fex, Executive Director of Heart House Hospice. “We’re the only hospice in Mississauga and have been serving the community for over 40 years, yet most people here have no idea what we do or what hospice is. But our work with Curious Public is going a long way to help us change that. From the UPLIFT program, Heart House got a refreshed brand narrative with key messages that we can use across our marketing, and we also received foundational communications training to help our staff sharpen their skills, plus multiple content pieces that are supporting our upcoming fundraising initiatives.”

Past Uplift recipients include Learning for a Sustainable Future, the Scarborough Women’s Centre and the Urban Alliance on Race Relations

“We wake up every day and get to work on what we love – we’re very lucky – but we didn’t get here alone,” says Rang. “That’s why we believe in paying forward the bit of good we’ve received.”

Applying for UPLIFT is straightforward and takes little time. Organizations can find application forms and program details at curiouspublic.com/uplift/.

UPLIFT submissions close Friday, September 8th
